DY POWER PRODUCT INTRODUCTION

The photochromic process can happen only when DY powder is dissolved in suitable medium, such as oily solvent and resin. The polarity of the medium has great influence on the color, so a test before use to confirm the color is necessary.

Suggested application and dosage

For oily ink and coating:0.3~3.0 wt%

For film-making:0.2~1 wt%

For injection molding:0.1~0.8 wt%

CAUTIONS

DY powder is easily affected by factors of the environment, such as light, oxygen, and pH value, causing photo aging. This will result in short lifetime and even loss of photochromic function. To improve longevity and achieve anti-aging of the DY power, it is beneficial to add antioxidant and ultraviolet absorbent during use. The type and amount of the additives applicable to various mediums may be different. The incorrect additives might shorten the lifespan of DY powder.

The decomposition temperature of the DY powder is low. It is beneficial for the photochromic property when the processing temperature is not higher than 220 degrees and the processing time is not longer than 30 mins. The lower processing temperature and the shorter processing time is beneficial to improve the photochromic property of the products.
